Emotional Rainy Day Navy Pilot Family Homecoming

There are no words that can truly describe how truly magical and amazing this day was for everyone that was there!  The rain didn’t matter!  The wind;  no one really cared!  It was an absolutely beautiful day for the Knighthawks and their families who had been waiting anxiously for months for their loved ones to fall back into their arms!

No one will ever understand quite what it feels like to be separated from those you love:  husbands, daddies, boyfriends, sons…

Not unless you have been there yourself patiently waiting and wishing the time to fly by!  Sometimes the days feel so incredibly short while others it just feels like the days will never end!

When the day arrives for your family to come home, well it just doesn’t quite feel real!

I have been blessed to know Ronda and her wonderful family for a while now!  Tuck and I couldn’t be more blessed with more loving and fun neighbors!  We’ve enjoyed many pizza nights where the kiddo’s have spent the time running circles around the house and laughing together while Ronda and I sat chatting about life and motherhood and sometimes even lawn care 😉

This day was a day where we were able to come together and support her as we welcomed back the love of her life!

The day was full of fun and laughter!  There were tears of happiness and hugs so tight and kisses that were nice and long and slow!

I will forever remember this day and all the love that was shared!

There are no words that can truly describe all the emotions that were felt so I will just let all the images do the talking!

Thank you to all the families and all the pilots!  What you all do both at home and in your field is what gives us all so many of the freedoms that we have today!

No rain can stop hugs and kisses for Daddy!
There is no other feeling in the world than the feeling when daddy comes home!

Welcome home Dave!!!

We are so happy you are home safe and sound!!!

Thank you for all you have done… now it’s time to sit back, relax, watch a little Star Wars and maybe play some baseball!

I always love when the holiday season starts to come around!  This always means it’s time to get together and see just how much some of my favorite little ones have grown in a year’s time!  I’m always amazed and I know I shouldn’t be… a year is such a BIG CHUNK of time, yet I’m always blown away by how big they are and how much they have changed (yet in the same ways stayed the same!)

Morgan and her girls are one of my favorites!  I grew up with Morgan and so seeing her each year is a huge treat for me!  It’s a treat to see her as momma and a wife!  It’s a treat to see her and chat with her about all of our mutual friends and life!  And it’s an amazing treat, especially, to see her beautiful girls and to watch them grow!

This year we decided to meet for a sunrise session!  We met at a local park and favorite running trail of Morgans for a little Thanksgiving inspired mini session!  The best part about knowing someone and having a relationship is that you can either take your time if the time allows or you have the freedom to be quick too!

We played on this chilly morning and laughed a lot and wrapped it up super quick so that big sister A could play for a bit in the park! I also heard that a super delicious was promised so I definitely didn’t want to keep them!

Here are some of my favorites from our time together!

Morgan and Chris: You are both such incredible parents! I adore my time with the two of you and want to thank you so much for always trusting me with your precious and valuable memories! Your girls are incredibly beautiful inside and out!

I am truly blessed to be able to meet with you in the mornings and spend our time talking all things parenting, motherhood, my little ponies and silly songs! It is such a gift to me you will never know!

Happy Monday Friends!  This is going to be a short re-cap but sometimes short is good, sometimes short is even better!

We’ve had family in town this past weekend and so we’ve been doing lots of playing and catching up and jumping.. yep jumping!  We visited the Trampoline park here for the first time and it was wild!  I’m really not sure who had more fun, the kids or the adults.  If you follow me on instagram, you saw that Linc was pretty fearless but also that Tuck enjoyed himself very much!

If you haven’t been yet to our Trampoline park here in VB, you definitely need to go!  A little tip though if you are jumping with littles:  make sure they have their own little space to jump and you don’t jump in the same trampoline as they do!  We experienced an extremely scary moment as Linc stepped on to the same trampoline as one of our friends who was in mid high bounce and Linc turned out to be quite the little acrobat!  I saw my life flash before my eyes!

Some lessons learned this week:

  • We are participating in elf on the shelf this year!  Fargus is pretty great BUT Linc is not a fan of sharing dinosaur toys!  Sometimes creativity doesn’t always win out with toddlers.  In fact, it can lead to the hating of Christmas, Santa, Elves and magic in general for the toddler time span (which can be minutes, seconds, or hours depending on the day!)  Best to just move him around and do minimal fun things… like zip lining!  Zip-lining is a huge win!
  • Fully embrace when you stick your foot in your mouth and be thankful when your old friends from high school are able to laugh with you/at you!  Hey.. sometimes that can be an endearing quality right?!
  • Also… when your little one is very upset that your elf is riding your favorite dino and you NEED to call your daddy to talk it out;  make sure you actually ARE in fact calling your husband at 6 am instead of  one of your closet friends who might not even be awake!  Sorry CLAIRE!  (be grateful for friends that answer their phones at 6 am b/c they know you are with your husband travels!!!)  Love you friend!
  • Coffee does NOT taste good black… sorry friends I can’t do it!
  • Have ya’ll ever been to Zoe’s?!  It’s AMAZING and their protein plate is my new JAM!  I’ve been driving OUT OF MY WAY lately to get it whenever I have the chance!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and I would love to hear what you did and what YOU learned!!!

I will working away like a busy bee today and also… shh dropping off some lovely little packages in the mail today!  HOORAY!!

Here’s a little sneak preview of what’s to come this week like this amazing and tear jerker of a homecoming!  I am so happy these guys have their daddy home!
