Could you wait?!  I mean really, could you wait to find out whether you were having a boy or girl… especially when you already have one of the cutest, sweetest and just the right amount of sassy little girls already?!!

I couldn’t!

We had been planning so many fun things for her gender reveal for such a long time!  My girlfriend is also a photographer and an artist so you can just imagine all the ideas we came up with… sparkly gold dresses, urban settings, fireworks, etc!  When we came to our real senses we ended up planning the perfect little gender reveal involving everything special and unique to their family.

Of course though once you plan, something always comes up and that evening we had storms!  Little ones that passed by, thunder that rolled through and rain showers that down poured then stopped then spit then stopped and kept rolling like that on through the evening.  E and I didn’t let it stop us though, with her crazy travel schedule and the anticipation of what was in that lantern… we just had to know!

So we changed direction and you know, I think it was just perfect!  I laugh because when I think about it it reminds me of that saying… you were born on a dark and stormy night… now E can say you were revealed on a dark and stormy evening!

Here are some of my favorite from our quick little session in their back yard!  Her hubby made the teepee, yea he’s awesome like that!

OOOH I’m so excited… what will it be, boy or girl for big sister Clover?!

Congratulations Clover!  You are going to one fantastic big sis!!!!

We’ve added on to our family!

And we are so excited for you to meet our newest addition and our GIANT baby girl!

Just to let you know… if you plan on visiting my house anytime soon, I now have two toddlers!  A wild and crazy 26 pounder who loves monster trucks, car crashes, Winnie the Pooh, Slides and splashing in the pool!  My other toddler:  A wild and crazy 65 pounder who believes she is a newborn baby, likes to be held like a newborn baby, runs zoomies around the backyard, talks back to you when you speak to her in baby talk, is a lover of cheese, and will play peek a boo for hours!

Both fight for attention, both want to sit in your lap at the same time, both want to know where the other one is at all times, both are keenly aware of when there is a chance for food to be involved, and both think the world revolves around each other!

They are a dynamic duo for sure and all I need is a set of matching super hero capes for them… and maybe some theme music!

Meet our new girl Tipper!

What’s more perfect than sandy baby toes, mushed up avocados, sticky cheerio fingers, squealing baby giggles mixed in with baby growls and the far distant crashing of waves?!

That is by far my perfect evening!  A warm summers night and my absolute favorite people around!  There is nothing that fills my heart more!

We had the perfect evening for a family session that was inspired by little Jacks!  He is such a wonderful and funny little man with the best of both his momma and daddy in him!  It’s been such an honor and a joy for me to watch him grow and explore and this family session was huge for me!

I’m a pretty emotional personal but seeing one of my best friends become a mom and really she was born to be a momma… it just is a something I can not describe!  This session in particular, I’m not sure what it is about it.  I came home and as I was going through these images I was just bursting with happiness and tears!  To see her grace and beauty as a mom and a wife is breath taking.  To be able to capture how playful she and Kimo are with their son and how happy and crazy and silly Jacks is;  to see how full his little life is already, he is just one incredibly lucky little man!

I’m usually full of words and can openly express my feelings and my thoughts but this is the first time I really find myself unable to find those words to describe what is on my heart.  It’s the first time that I really am unable to express what I felt when I was taking these photos and how incredibly happy and just amazingly beyond lucky I am to be able to be a part of their lives.  I just don’t have the words to express what it means to me to be able to share these moments with them.

It might be hard to understand but when you have known someone as long as I have known Colleen:  almost 25 years now, it becomes a blessing and a privilege to be able still be a part of their lives and see everything that they are and how far they have come and who they are now!  I feel honored to be able to give back to her by capturing these special moments and I feel honored that she let’s me be a part of them!

So enough sappy talk… here are my favorites from our session together!  There are many and if I could have put the whole gallery on here, I would have!
